Music composer, conductor, musicologist. Focus on authentic interpretation of older music, critical edition. Artistic director of Ensemble Damian (est. 1996) and impresario of the itinerant theatre Theatrum Schrattenbach (2004). Established the following three Olomouc festivals: Baroque (since 1998, in 2009 received the Olomouc Region Award), Opera Schrattenbach (since 2005), Olomouc Baroque Festival (since 2013). Former artistic director of Olomouc Children’s Opera at SGO Olomouc (2006-16), for which he wrote a number of original titles. Assistant Professor at the Department of Music Education, Faculty of Education, Palacký University (since 2004); on 1 February premiered his opera Yta innocens (Innocent Yta) under the National Theatre project entitled Banging the Iron Curtain. After successful presentation was commissioned to produce a full-length work for the National Theatre. Set to music an anonymous Latin text Lacrimae Alexandri Magni (Alexander the Great’s Tears – premiered on 25 January 2007). His opera La Dafne is currently on the repertoire of the National Theatre in Brno.
